Andrew 11 days old

A few photos at 11 days old!

Andrew was wide awake talking to his uncle Mickey

The girls enjoying a little movie time

                                            Andrew's first bath....he wasn't happy about it!

We love our brother

The girls have done so well adjusting to their new brother!! They were definitely nervous being in the hospital and having mommy in a hospital bed. As long as I was laying in bed neither one wanted to come near me (made me a little sad).  Liv kept saying "mommy boo boo, mommy bed".  Luckily by the second day when I could get up and move around they were happy to give me hugs and kisses! Made me feel a whole lot better :)

Liv took to Andrew right away. Always touching him on the head and saying his name "An-doo" She was more than happy to give him hugs and kisses in the hospital. Elizabeth was a little more nervous. She would smile at him but didn't want to touch him at all.
Now that we have been home for about a week and half both girls are just loving all over him. Liv wakes up wanting to hold him and Elizabeth is always excited for her chance to hold him as well. It is so darn cute. Both their little faces just light up when they get their turn!! When he is in his swing, Liv will go up to him randomly and pet his head and give him a kiss. so sweet!! If I could have guessed who would have been the more receptive sister to him my guess would have been Elizabeth!  Liv doesn't normally respond to change very quickly and I thought it would take her a little longer but they surprised me again! Elizabeth has always been happy to see Andrew and smiles at him constantly but it took a few days before she would actually touch him or want to give him a little kiss.

I couldn't be happier with how the girls are doing with him! There doesn't seem to be any obvious jealousy and they seem to be going about business as usual. I just hope that the coming weeks and months are just as smooth! :)

When we got home from the hospital we told the girls that Andrew had picked out some toys for them (the koala and penguin). A few days later Drew was in the swing and BOTH girls brought their toys and gave them to him. They are now his toys! Sweet girls!
Hi "An doo"

We certainly look forward to the growing relationship between all three!

Happy Birthday Andrew

February 5, 2010 we welcomed our newest addition!! Andrew Mickey Vazquez Hartman was born at 2:28pm at 7lbs 9oz and 19.6 in!! He was just shy of 38 weeks and came out kicking and screaming.
That morning the girls packed their suitcases to spend the weekend with Tita and Toto. Liv had her CARS bag and Elizabeth her princess bag. We had them dressed in their BIG sister shirts and  they were so cute! My mom came to pick them up around 10 am and they headed out.

Brandon and I headed to the hospital about 11am to get checked in. Just as we arrived at the hospital and were getting ready to park, I realized that I had forgotten to bring our cord blood kit in order to donate our cord blood. I almost just said forget about it but I really wanted to be able to do it. So Brandon dropped me off and headed back home to pick it for me (what a wonderful hubby!!). He was gone about an hour which I think really worked out since I was just laid out in a bed hooked up to monitors while we waited. By the time he got back he was onlt with me about 30 minutes before it was time to go. Cutting it a little close but he was there none the less :)
First thought was that he looked just like Olivia!!

It was such a totally different experience this time than with the girls. We were 34w2d when the girls were born and we literally saw them for a brief moment and then they were taken straight to NICU. We didn't see them until the next day. This time we were 37w5d and he got to stay with us the whole time!! I could see him while the docs were "putting me back together"! Brandon got to hold him and we had so many pictures that we took while we were in the OR (we don't have any with the girls since we were not prepared for their arrival). Even in recovery, I assumed that they would take him but he was with us the whole time! Absolutely amazing! During recovery my parents were able to come and see Andrew for the first time and Olivia and Elizabeth were able to meet their brother for the first time. The girls were definitely a little nervous seeing me in the bed and not able to get up and give them hugs!! But I did still get some smiles :)

i didnt get this experience with the girls :)

our big boy!
Andrew got to hang with us in recovery! Anesthesiologist did a great job with a different combo of meds that kept me from shaking uncontrollably like I did after the girls! I was able to hold our new baby less than an hour old! (although she tried, she still wasnt able to keep me from throwing up...boo)

I already love him!!!

on our way to our room with our police escort! Dont I feel special. hehe

He does have Elizabeth's eyes and hair! He is just so adorable and we can't believe he is here!!

Baby #3 has made it into this world safe and healthy and the Hartman family is officially complete!!

headed to the hospital

These were the pictures from my camera that I hadn't gotten a chance to download yet.

leaving for the hospital with three empty carseats! this is going to be crazy :)

and we made it! Brandon had just returned less than an hour before Andrew was born! We had arrived early as scheduled when I realized that I had forgotten our cord blood kit and sent him back home for it. He made it back just in time to get all geared up!

funny guy
So attractive ;)

not sure if we are having a baby or headed to a biohazard area! lol!

Just can't wait

Last few hours as a family of four  :)

Apparently all of my children like to make surprise entrances!! As previously posted, we had a really rough week with everyone being sick and needless to say a drained and exhausted mommy! At this point in the pregnancy (rounding 38 weeks) I am not sleeping AT ALL. Between the VERY frequent trips to the restroom, being totally and completely uncomfortable, and numerous contractions, I was not feeling very well at all. On Thursday February 4 (day 3 of contractions anywhere from 6-15 min apart) I called the doctor and headed in to see how everything was going. I was quite nauseous most of the morning and thankfully my mom was there to help me out. I went in and was definitely having contractions so it was decided that Andrew would be born the next day (he was scheduled for the following friday feb12!). We at least had the night to prepare a little for his birth , versus the 10 minutes we had before we found out that the girls were making their debut. I must say it was a little more nerve racking this time around. The first time we didn't know what to expect or what was really going to happen. Going into it this time, knowing what was going to happen, certainly makes you a little more nervous.

Girls are packed and ready to go to Tita's
Liv and her CARS suitcase
Elizabeth and her PRINCESS suitcase
(if you look in the background it looks like Sadie is ready to meet Andrew too!haha)

Headed to the hospital to welcome Andrew Mickey

Mr. Andrew

Last Friday we had our last official ultrasound to see how Mr. Andrew is doing. Everything looked perfect and he is measuring right on target at 5lbs15oz!! way to go! and we still have three weeks to go. We should be looking at at least an 8lb baby! wow what will that be like. :)
His movement is still insane! I know I have said this a hundred times but I am still in disbelief at how often he moves and how strong he is! If I had to compare pregnancies I would think I was carrying twins this time not last time! lol!!  It's crazy! Yesterday he had hiccups that even daddy could feel. That is actually the first time that I have felt his hiccups so distinctly. On several different occasions I have also been able to feel his breathing motions! Sometimes I will be resting on the couch with my hands resting on my belly and can feel the rhythmic breathing.. I observe this motion all the time at work, as it is part of testing, but to actually feel it is just amazing. I honestly didn't know you could feel this movement. Hiccups I have seen and felt numerious times with patients but not breathing.
My belly is full on alien invasion contorting and poking out in every direction! And although it is not all that comfortable to have him so active it sure does give me piece of mind that he is still growing and thriving! As I am writing this, I can feel taps on my hip bone as well as see a butt or knee stretching out under my rib! He certainly takes full advantage of the space he has. My guess is that the girls must have stretched things out nicely and he is enjoying having all the space to himself! lol!
