We are famous...

well not really.... but we did make the official brochure of the twin group here in College Station. I had no idea that one of our pictures was being used so it was a total surprise. The group here is much smaller than San Antonio but I've certainly met some amazing moms and kids through it. I'd be lost here without them.
Our sweet friends are on the page next to us as well. We've gotten to know Meagan and Natalie really well over the last year (they are about 7 months older than Andrew, yet play so well with Liv and Liz). They even moved into our neighborhood this past summer. Their mom, Melissa, has been the greatest friend I could ask for. Especially since we moved here with no friends or family in the area.. She and her husband are both aggies, and my suite mate (from A&M) and long time friend, Ashley Whatley, also went to law school with her husband. Such a small world. Not only is she a mom of twins, but she is always up for an adventure. Her girls are so easy going and we have had so much fun with them. Since there are limited activities for little ones in this area we have made several trips to the Waco Zoo, Blue Bell Creamery, Waco Children's Museum, Brenham roller skating rink, Brenham airport, swimming at her inlaws in Navasota and a few county fairs in between. Our husbands both work terribly long hours so we were always looking for fun things to do with the kids. Nice to have someone who can relate on so many levels. We love the Carter Family!

Meet the Teacher

One of my favorite family pictures recently!
We have so few with ALL five us! And it was an added bonus to have everyone looking forward with big grins! This picture was taken on meet the teacher night in the girls' classroom. To be honest, I thought this would be a really awkward picture because the small chair we are squeezed on barely fit us. Their teacher, Mrs.Vesurk, took these with each family so the kids would have "family" greet them come Monday morning in their classroom.

When we got home from visiting the school the kids had fun surprise waiting for them! They were so excited. Thanks Papa and Kathleen! They immediately noticed the cookies were of them! Of course they thought the brown haired "lady" was me but I'm pretty sure it was suppose to be their teacher. Although the picture doesn't quite do it justice, those cookies were huge. None of them could finish a whole in one sitting.

Pick up after the first day

A few missed pictures that were on my cell phone from the first day of school.
I think we can say it was a success!
small little surprise awaiting them at home
Can't believe these two are in KINDERGARTEN!!!

Andrew's first day back to Powersports

Here we go. Andrew's first day back to Powersports. He is heading into the 3 year old room with Ms. Annette. She is new to the school but we got to meet her the previous week and are really excited. She has 8 children, five of whom are boys!!! Andrew can be a handful and he has a few small querks you have to understand to keep things sailing smoothly. After meeting Ms. Annette, I KNEW he was going to have a great year. If she can handle that many kids (and boys for that matter), surely she's experienced a boy like our Andrew.
That's my little man!

First year with his own back pack that he picked out. Last year we did use a small backpack but it was used more as a diaper bag. He didn't have much attachment to it except that he knew his diapers and snacks were in it. It is so AWESOME that this stubborn little guy decided a few weeks before school started that he was FINALLY going to start using the potty. He has been very intent on NOT using it that I thought it would still be a little while. Anyone who knows this child knows that it if he has his mind set on something it's quite difficult to change it. The nice thing about him being "older" was that once he decided he was going to potty train that was it. He still uses a pull up at night but didn't even need it for naps (which are still 2-3hrs) almost instantly. wahoo!! Really was starting to think he WOULD be that kid that went to kinder in a diaper! Thank you buddy for not making that a reality. All joking aside, we are really proud of you buddy!!
doesn't get much cuter!

I think he's ready!!

*update: When we got to school we found out that he was actually bumped up to the 4 year old room. Still the same teacher but a lot of the kids this year in the 3 year old room are young 3s so a handful of them were moved up. The school as a whole this year seems to have "younger" (spring birthdays) kids in each group. Andrew is February so he's not that much older but he's a bigger kid and does well in class so I'm excited about this change. Now I know he will be able to go straight to the 5 year old room next year without any difficulties! yaay!

Preschool Graduation

The day is here!
Official graduation from Powersports Jump 2 Learning Preschool
sweet girls!
They seem ready!

Even the younger kids get to participate in "graduating" to their next class
Just "keepin it cool"

Olivia got to be the flag holder for the ceremony

here she comes
She held the flag while her classmate recited the pledge
How cute is that!!!
This was the 2 year old class (yes turned 3 back in feb but I decided to keep him in this class because his teacher, Miss Karen, was AWESOME!
A group song (2s,3s,4s and 5s) all participated together
Here comes the 2 year old room
I didn't realize when we dropped him a few minutes before that he had pockets full of coins. He's pretty much never without coins in hand and when I didn't see them, I assumed they were in car. Nope, looks like they were in his pockets.
oops...he spotted us! I was afraid he would run off to us like he did last year. Much to my surprise he gave us a sweet little nervous grin but stayed right where he was suppose to

He was doing such a great job! He knew all the words to his song and was doing all the body animations. He has come so far in the last six months!

Great job buddy!! On to the 3 year old room!

Time for the big girls!
The each had a class buddy that they recited a joke to the audience with. Liv got to ask and answer to jokes because another classmate was unable to be here today.

although quite nervous, they did a great job!
Everyone was presented with a medal around their neck and certificate of completion
(they waited all week to get their medals ;) )
Hooray!!!
We did it!

Yaaay! Another year of learning is in the books!
Love these kids!
Although they didn't get to be in the same class, they had gym time and recess time with their best beds, Maegan and Sadie
Unfortunately we won't be going to the same kindergarten, but we look forward to lots of fun with these girls in the future!
Kids enjoying some free playtime after the ceremony
We love you Ms. Mimi

Our reader chart on display for everyone to see.
(This was taken as we were leaving and Olivia had been upset realizing she didn't get to say goodbye to one her friends)
