The girls have done so well adjusting to their new brother!! They were definitely nervous being in the hospital and having mommy in a hospital bed. As long as I was laying in bed neither one wanted to come near me (made me a little sad). Liv kept saying "mommy boo boo, mommy bed". Luckily by the second day when I could get up and move around they were happy to give me hugs and kisses! Made me feel a whole lot better :)
Liv took to Andrew right away. Always touching him on the head and saying his name "An-doo" She was more than happy to give him hugs and kisses in the hospital. Elizabeth was a little more nervous. She would smile at him but didn't want to touch him at all.
Now that we have been home for about a week and half both girls are just loving all over him. Liv wakes up wanting to hold him and Elizabeth is always excited for her chance to hold him as well. It is so darn cute. Both their little faces just light up when they get their turn!! When he is in his swing, Liv will go up to him randomly and pet his head and give him a kiss. so sweet!! If I could have guessed who would have been the more receptive sister to him my guess would have been Elizabeth! Liv doesn't normally respond to change very quickly and I thought it would take her a little longer but they surprised me again! Elizabeth has always been happy to see Andrew and smiles at him constantly but it took a few days before she would actually touch him or want to give him a little kiss.
I couldn't be happier with how the girls are doing with him! There doesn't seem to be any obvious jealousy and they seem to be going about business as usual. I just hope that the coming weeks and months are just as smooth! :)
When we got home from the hospital we told the girls that Andrew had picked out some toys for them (the koala and penguin). A few days later Drew was in the swing and BOTH girls brought their toys and gave them to him. They are now his toys! Sweet girls!
